Spring Activities—What to do in Breckenridge

Updated January 28, 2026 / Lauren Parker

Temperatures are getting warmer, days are getting longer, and the snow is still here! Spring in Breckenridge is quite literally one of the best times to come visit. There are many indoor and outdoor activities that will guarantee a fun and fulfilling day! Soak up the sun and enjoy all the perks that this unique town has to offer.

Go Fly-Fishing: The rivers are melting, and the fish are biting! Breckenridge is home to world-class fly-fishing in the Blue River. Pay a visit to Mountain Angler or Breckenridge Outfitters for guided trips, equipment, or advice.

White-Water Rafting: The rivers are at their highest in the spring when they are replenished with melting snow. Several outfitters in Breckenridge can take you out for a day of adrenaline-filled fun on the river! Breckenridge Whitewater RaftingColorado Rafting CompanyPerformance Tours, and AVA Rafting are a few outfitters in our area.

Spring Skiing: Spring brings some of the most enjoyable days on the mountain, with warmer temperatures, sunny skies, and the occasional late-season snowfall. Mornings often start with firmer snow, while afternoons soften into classic spring conditions. Terrain and lift access can vary throughout the season, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the mountain as winter transitions into spring.

Peaks & Beats Weekend | April 25 & 26, 2026

  • Pond Skim
    • One of Breckenridge’s favorite spring traditions returns with the Peaks & Beats Pond Skim. Watch skiers and riders attempt to skim across an icy pool at the base of Peak 8 from 10 AM – 1 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Participants must register online in advance, with a $30 entry fee benefiting the Epic Promise Foundation. Spots are limited and tend to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.
  • Partner Village
    • The Partner Village at the base of Peak 8 keeps the celebration going all weekend long with interactive activations, giveaways, contests, and more. Stop by to connect with event partners Mtn. Dew, Toyota, American Express, and Outer Range Brewing, and enjoy the festive atmosphere between pond skim runs and music sets.
  • Music Series
    • Celebrate spring at the base of Peak 8 with the Peaks & Beats Music Series, featuring free live music all weekend long. Headliners Nimino (Saturday) and Wuki (Sunday) take the stage at 3 PM each day, with opening DJs starting at 1 PM to kick off the afternoon. From pond skims to mountain views, Peaks & Beats brings the energy for a full weekend of music in Breckenridge.
