There is no shortage of late-night fun in Breckenridge and the Gold Pan Saloon, open since 1879, takes the cake boasting the longest continuous liquor license west of the Mississippi. After dinner service, this historic hotspot transforms into a neon-lit wonderland, rocking late-night DJ sets that turn the night into a dance extravaganza.

Visit Blue River Bistro for a casual, yet upscale dining experience. Take advantage of 2 for 1 martinis and appetizers during their happy hour! Our personal favorites are the Crispy Tiger Shrimp and the Violette Femme (Breck vodka, Crème de Violette, Elderflower Liqueur, Lemon, and Bubbles).

You can find Cool River and Breck’s best breakfast in a cute purple-trimmed building between main street and the Blue River. Tucked in the heart of town, this laid-back spot offers a must-try Bloody Mary and hearty breakfast burritos such as the Red’s B&G which is our personal favorite! Cool River also offers a wide selection of smoothie bowls and breakfast sandwiches, as well as house-baked pastries including bunt cakes, turn overs, “pop-tarts”, and croissants—all adding up to be the perfect fuel for a day on the slopes.

Best Dessert/Treat

Higgles is a small business on Main Street with big flavors that pack a serious punch. It’s no wonder this is a crowd favorite with rotating daily flavors made right in-house with locally sourced ingredients. With quirky concoctions and timeless flavor fusions such as Apple Cider Sorbet, Pumpkin Oreo, or Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, Higgles has turned into a local legend, leaving patrons hooked and coming back for more.

Best Bar
Hours: 12 p.m.—12 a.m.
Rocky Mountain Underground initially started as a ski shop offering custom skis to friends and family for the price of 30 beers. From there, they decided to open their expertise to the public and share the good vibes. In the summertime, you’ll find live music on the back patio. Alternatively in the colder months, enjoy a cool ski movie on one of the TVs inside! RMU has taken the place of best bar in Breckenridge because of the variety of cocktails, and beers, and the overall inviting atmosphere.

Best Après Ski

Not only is RMU the local’s favorite overall bar, it is Breckenridge’s best spot for Après Ski! This hot spot is a quick walk from the gondola and located right on Main Street with a front facing patio to gaze at the mountains from a different angle. Enjoy local draft beers, carefully crafted cocktails, and a selection of wines while munching on a yummy after ski snack! We recommend trying the Espress Yo Self to keep you charged through the night.

The Carlin has breathed new life into Breckenridge’s sea food scene. The raw bar makes for great appetizers or small plates and the inventive takes on ocean entrees include: Grouper, Seared Verlasso Salmon, and creative chef’s offerings for catch of the day. If you’re looking to try it all, the Sea Food Platter is the way to go. Pairing cuisine with attentive service, it is no wonder the Carlin is our Best New Restaurant this year.
