Top 5 Breakfast Spots in Breckenridge

June 14, 2024 / Lauren Parker

If you’re anything like me and my family and friends, your vacation revolves around where you’re going to eat. The night before: we plan breakfast, at breakfast: we plan for lunch, during lunch: we reserve dinner. Sometimes, living in Breckenridge year-round can feel like vacation everyday! One of my favorite aspects about living here is the delicious restaurants that are littered across Main Street and beyond. When it comes to breakfast recommendations, the Best of Breck team is here for you.

Cool River Coffee House

Daily, 7 a.m.–3 p.m. | 325 S. Main St. | 970-453-1716

There’s no question why Cool River won the 2023 Best of Breckenridge award for Best Breakfast. With its extensive menu covering everything from breakfast burritos and sandwiches to homemade oatmeal cream pies and pop tarts, this local favorite has been a hot spot for over 20 years! We highly recommend the Veggie Burrito with spicy salsa, the Eggman Sandwich, or the Breakfast Scramble Bowl. All of these dishes pair perfectly with a Lavender Matcha Latte or Caramel Hazelnut Latte. Or, if you really want to kickstart your day, snag a Creamy Whiskey Cold Brew or Tequila Rose!

Blue Moose

Daily, 7 a.m.–1 p.m. | 540 S. Main St. | 970-453-4859

If you’re craving a classic American breakfast, diner-style, stop by Blue Moose for the yummiest, most delectable breakfast perfect for any season. This is a must-visit next time you’re in Breckenridge! It is always the first morning stop when I have friends or family come to town. Fuel up with the Country Benedict or satisfy that sweet tooth with French Toast and be ready for all the adventures ahead. Don’t sleep on their coffee cocktails or Breakfast Cereal Shot Flight!

Mom’s Baking Company

Tuesday—Thursday & Sunday 8 a.m.– 2 p.m., Friday & Saturday 8 a.m.–3 p.m. | 100 N. Main St. Suite 214 | 970-453-4473

While you’re in Breckenridge, stop by Mom’s to be transported to the Czech Republic where the owner, operator, and Chief Baker Ema, is originally from. Delight in light and flaky pastries, baked goods or Czech-inspired sandwiches served all day. Make yourself at home on the cozy couch or picnic table while sipping on a strong Espresso or bold Americano. During the summer, enjoy your breakfast outside and watch the sun light up the TenMile Range.

Clint’s Bakery and Coffee House

Daily, 7 a.m.–8 p.m. | 131 S. Main St. | 970-453-2990

Located in the heart of downtown Breckenridge on Main Street, you’ll commonly find a line out the door of this local favorite. While making your way to the cashier, feast your eyes on the mouth-watering variety of muffins, croissants, bars/brownies, cookies, biscottis, cakes, pies, and cupcakes all on display. After ordering a specialty coffee, tea, or smoothie, head downstairs for a filling bagel breakfast sandwich. My go-to is the Santa Fe, but there really is no bad option!

Columbine Café

Daily, 7:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. | 109 S. Main St. | 970-547-4474

Tucked away on Main Street, Columbine Café can be found just behind Downstairs at Eric’s where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy breakfast outside away from the crowds during warmer months. Sitting inside is nothing short of enjoyable and relaxing. This true café-style restaurant boasts serving breakfast all day long! Had a long night? Try their Hangover Burrito for a real pick-me-up! Looking for something a little sweeter? Columbine offers 12 inch pancakes for under $5!
