We all know what it’s like when the feeling hits, a sudden grumble in your stomach, that sudden afternoon hunger that needs to be sated right away. Have no fear, your lunchtime sandwich heroes are here! Whether you’re taking a midday break from your mountain adventures or looking for a quick bite, our team has weighed in on the best places to grab a sandwich in Breckenridge.
Lauren: Figgy Smalls at RMU Grilled Cheeserie
My favorite sammy in all of Breckenridge is the Figgy Smalls from the Grilled Cheeserie in the beer garden of RMU. It is unique with its spicy fig honey, but classic with chopped prosciutto and Brie cheese, and the arugula adds a slight crunch. Good luck topping that.
Cody: The Favorite at Downstairs Deli
The name says it all. Tucked under the Breckenridge Tourism Office is this Breckenridge classic spot that spins out tons of delicious sandwiches. I’ve been visiting this sandwich shop for years and keep coming back for The Favorite. Toasted fresh French bread (or a soft Kaiser Roll if you are looking to mix it up) and thinly sliced vegetables with turkey and bacon—what else could you want for lunch?
Emmily: The French at The Cheese Shop
If you’ve got a sophisticated pallet and you’re looking for a unique bite, stop by The Cheese Shop located in Main Street Station! Create your own charcuterie board and enjoy it in front of a fiery sunset or, get a sammy to-go and pair it with your favorite blend from the patio of Continental Divide Winery across the way. My go-to sandwich is The French (ham, brie, fig spread, and mixed greens), paired with a full-flavored sauvignon blanc under the Colorado sun. Bon appétit!
Laurel: The Lincoln at The Crown
The Crown is a staple coffee shop on Main Street and is one of my favorite spots for a great panini. I am a lover of goat cheese, so I naturally gravitate towards the Lincoln, made with turkey, bacon, goat cheese, avocado, tomato and greens served on a warm ciabatta. I love to cozy up in one of the window booths in the winter with a spiked coffee and this delectable sandwich!
