Summer is Heating Up in Breckenridge and Event Season is Just Around the Corner

It’s getting hot outside. The trees are greening up. The flowers are blooming. Breck has made the transition to summer and that means event season is getting ready to kick off. Breckenridge comes alive in the summer in more ways than just the foliage. From concerts to gold panning to parades, we know how to keep the good times rolling in the High Country. Here are some of the top events happening in Breckenridge this summer.

Breckenridge Music Festival – The annual lineup of classical, pops, chamber, rock, jazz and more is back this summer featuring the usual amazing performances by the likes of Keller Williams, Arturo Sandoval, Vijay Iyer Trio, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox and much more. National Repertory Orchestra (NRO) – The NRO is back for its 25th season featuring the best up and coming young musicians in the country. Featuring all kinds of classical music and hosting concerts and events throughout the summer, the NRO is a fantastic opportunity to get a little “culture” in Breckenridge. Gold Panning Championships, June 15th – 17th – Kick off summer in Breckenridge with a little gold panning in Blue River Plaza. You might not find Tom’s Baby here, but there are plenty of nuggets and flakes for everyone to stake their claim. Independence Day Celebration, July 2 – 5 – Celebrate the birth of our great nation in Breckenridge. There are all kinds of activities going on in Breck over the 4th of July week. The 13th Annual Breckenridge Summer Beer Festival, July 7th – This year there will be over 40 breweries for tastings, live music, a VIP area and lots of tasty food.  The party will be outside at Beaver Run Resort. The Breckenridge Food and Wine Festival, July 27 – 29 –  Returning for its 2nd year this unique wine-tasting experience will take place at the Main Street Station Plaza and The Village at Breckenridge. Breckenridge International Festival of Arts, August 10 – 19 – The perfect family festival, the Breckenridge International Festival of Arts brings together a variety of performances, installations, exhibitions, screenings, workshops, talks, and surprise collaborations, with an eclectic mix of music, theater, film, visual and street arts, and family entertainment. Spartan Race, August 18 – 19 – Test yourself this summer at the Spartan Race. The National Endurance Race series returns to Breckenridge again this summer. With races designed for beginners to experts and even kids, the Spartan race has a test for all abilities. Visit to register.
